FPL Goat’s GW1 Team Reveal

We have all been playing around with GW1 FPL drafts since the game launched a few weeks ago. Playing around with various team builds. Seeing if you can make Salah, Haaland and Palmer work in one team. It’s been a fun few weeks of debate and playing around with our teams, chopping and changing.

But the GW1 deadline is almost upon us, we are now less than 48 hours away from that 6:30 cut off point where your drafts turn in to your teams; they’ll be locked in. Now of course, we have our Wildcard chips and 2 Free Hits this season, but that does not mean we want to be wasting powerful and important chips early on because we got our GW1 drafts wildly wrong. Thankfully, the main man himself FPL Goat is here to bring you his exclusive GW1 team reveal, and to talk you through this thought process on how to start this new FPL season with a bang!

FPL GOAT’s GW1 FPL Team Reveal:

I was set on a 3-4-3 formation for my GW1 draft, but after Marc Guiu’s transfer to Sunderland I have shifted to a 3-5-2 structure with a heavy premium midfield.

Current locks for my GW1 team:

• Salah
• Palmer
• Bruno
• Watkins
• 1 Spurs Defender – either Porro or VDV
• 1 or maybe 2 Forest defenders
• Sanchez and Dubravka as my GK

Potential changes:

• Still haven’t decided on Bruno v Wirtz v Gakpo v Sarr.
• Haven’t decided on whether I want a £5.5m or £5.0m Midfielder.
• My 2nd forward will be one of Joao pedro, Fulkrug, Strand Larsen, Solanke.
• Salah isn’t leaving my team and will be my captain.
• The core players will most probably remain the same and I will assess my team again after the press conferences.
• I will lock in my team a few minutes before the deadline, hoping to get some leaks on X.
