Brentford Predicted Lineup:
Brentford Predicted Lineups GW2
GK - Kelleher
RB - Kayode
CB - Van den Berg
CB - Collins
LB - Henry
CM - Jensen
CM - Yarmoliuk
AM - Damsgaard
RW - Carvalho
LW - Schade
ST - Thiago
An unchanged back-5 despite the fact returning attackers means Lewis-Potter likely does not in attack and therefore him vs Henry for the left-back spot does become a question mark.
Henderson could move into one of the 2 deeper midfield roles after Jensen and Yarmoliuk failed to impress in GW1. However, until we see it, Jensen and Yarmoliuk may be the new manager’s preferred midfield double-pivot.
Janelt returned to team training this week but will not start.
Damsgaard returns after the birth of his child kept him out of GW1.
Carvalho vs Dango vs Lewis-Potter for the RW spot is an interesting battle to watch out for. I would have to think as we progress deeper into the season, new £40 million signing Dango Ouattara is favoured to make that role his own but Brentford did spend £25m on Carvalho last summer.
Schade played 45 minutes last week and is fit enough to start in GW2.
Speaking on Wissa, who is seeking a move to Newcastle, Keith Andrews stated “He’s been training with the team. In terms of being involved this weekend, I’ll make a decision on the squad. But he has been a part of the group this week.” It seems incredibly unlikely Wissa features in this game. He certainly won’t start.

Aston Villa Predicted Lineup GW2
GK - Martinez
RB - Cash
CB - Torres
CB - Mings
LB - Maatsen
CM - Onana
CM - Tielemans
AM - Rogers
RW - Malen
LW - McGinn
ST - Watkins
Aston Villa Team News:
Martinez returns from his 1 match suspension and will start.
Konsa is suspended after his GW1 red card. Mings and Torres make the most sense as a centre-back pairing.
Emery played too many midfielders in GW1 and Malen was so obviously needed. Kamara moves to the bench with Tielemans moving back into his more usual deeper role in midfield alongside Onana.
That then allows Rogers to move centrally to play as a 10, and Malen to play in his favoured position out on the right-wing. Emery has to see the need for another true forward in his starting XI.
Digne vs Maatsen will be one to watch all season and I think it will be matchup based. Against a weak Brentford team with McGinn providing him cover, the more attacking Maatsen might be favoured in games Villa are heavy favourites.
