Burnley Predicted Lineup:
Burnley Team News:
No major injury concerns coming off a GW3 narrow loss to Man United.
I believe Burnley will shift to a 5-2-2-1 for this game against Liverpool. It would be suicide to play 4-2-3-1 and try to come at Liverpool.
Liverpool Predicted Lineup:
Liverpool Team News:
Konate’s injury thought to not be serious. Apparently it was more him cramping up than an actual calf or thigh injury. If he were to miss any time, Gomez would start at centre-back alongside Van Dijk.
After his back-to-back brilliant displays at right-back, and now facing Burnley who are a far weaker side than Liverpool’s first 3 opponents, I don’t see why he would not start at right-back again to give Liverpool a more attacking lineup to go at Burnley who will sit in a low block.
Connor Bradley trained all week and is fit and was fit enough to start against Arsenal but Szoboszlai got the nod. Bradley likely sees minutes off the bench against Burnley to continue gaining match fitness
Mac Allister should start alongside Gravenberch in midfield as well as Jones played against Arsenal. Mac Allister is so good at dictating play and creating openings and chances against low blocks.
Frimpong could return to training after the international break. One to watch.
Alexander Isak has joined Liverpool for a British transfer record £125m fee. He will ramp up training with Sweden over the international break and then will be integrated in at Liverpool, however it is unlikely Slot throws Isak straight in with no pre-season, very few minutes in his legs, and such little time with his new coaches and teammates.
I expect Ekitike to start in GW4 and GW5, with GW6 being the week Isak should start for his new club.
