Man City Team News:
Ederson returns to the squad in all likelihood, after he was kept out of the GW1 squad due to illness. Guardiola spoke on the GK battle stating “We will decide tomorrow or tonight after dinner. I am happy with (Trafford), the new players always bring a new energy and James brings his youth and desire to play for the club he grew up at.”
Trafford was a £40m signing for the future and showed no reason why he should not continue to start, especially with Ederson flirting with a move away from Man City all summer.
I think against a much better Spurs side in comparison to Wolves in GW1, and a more physical and quick Spurs side, Nunes will start at right-back over Lewis.
Gvardiol has returned to training but Pep confirmed Friday that he is out for GW2.
The same midfield 3 starts.
Marmoush is a factor at either LW or RW, however after scoring 4 goals against Wolves, it would stand to reason the front-3 remains unchanged.
Savinho is still rumoured to favour a transfer to Spurs and a deal is still being negotiated. He won’t feature.
Foden and Rodri did not travel to Wolves last weekend and will be eased back. Pep revealed on Friday that “Rodri and Phil (Foden) were not available for the last game, they were out but it was just because of a lack of training. They are ready for tomorrow.” I think both will start on the bench after not playing in a competitive match for weeks or months.

Spurs Team News:
Spurs used this 3-5-2 formation against PSG in the UEFA Super Cup Final to great effect, going 2-0 before they made a bunch of subs and crumbled giving up the lead in the final 15 minutes of the game. This was also the exact lineup that Frank went with in that game, and again, he was rewarded with an excellent performance against the Champions League holders.
If Frank does elect to go with the 3-5-2 then Brennan Johnson will give way and Danso comes in to play right centre-back.
Udogie is back in team training but not ready to face Man City. Frank spoke stating “Destiny [Udogie] is better, trained with the team twice, full training, just too soon to be involved for City. We want him to train tomorrow and have another good week next week.”
Palhinha and Bentancur should return to the starting lineup, as both started and played well against PSG in this sytstem.
Kudus and Richarlison are the two forwards. Frank spoke on Richarlison on Friday stating firmly that “Right now, he is my starting nine. He scored two fantastic goals. He had two top games, he’s Brazilian number nine.” That settles that then.
Solanke should be nearing full match fitness but Frank spoke firmly on Richarlison and against a City team that scored 4 goals in GW1, the Brazilian’s industry and defensive work as well as his recent form make him an obvious choice to start.
